My Birthday!

My birthday was on Sunday this year. I woke up to find my doorway with streamers all around it. Mom got her camera and I got to run and break through it.

If you want to watch me run through, press play.

When it was time for breakfast I requested German Pancakes. They were mmmm. gooood. My seat was also decorated with a 7 on the back with streamers and wrapping paper on the seat. There as also a present on my place mat just waiting to be opened. After my family sang, "Happy, Happy, Birthday McKayla dear" I got to open the gift.
It was a purse handmade by my mom and I took it to church with me since it matched my dress.

My Mom made me a fruit pizza. I love how she put a 7 in the middle and my favorite fruits (except for the kiwi) around it.

The adults ate the big pizza and my mom made extra sugar cookies so all the kids could make their own little fruit pizzas. My cousing, Tyler made this birthday crown for me to wear.

Here I am blowing out the candles on my cake. They were trick candles so it took a few tries. Also pictured are Hallie, Stella, Tyler and Carter

A couple of days before my birthday I made a list for my parents of the things I wanted. On the list was: chapstick, purse, book, castle figure, school, and family. I was so excited to get all of those things. Mom made me the purse. Uncle Kurts family gave me 3 castle figures (they were fairies). Carter, Bree, and Ellie (with Oma's help) gave me lipgloss (almost chapstick) and the book as well as gum, a hairbrush with hairbands, a pencil sharpener, and a lunchbox icepack. Then Oma gave me schools supplies for when I go to 2nd grade next month. They also gave me a sketch diary. I was so excited when we had Costa Vida style pork burritos for dinner because I had asked to go there for my birthday. With my family surrounding me I got everything I asked for . What a great birthday!
Here I am after I opened my book. I can't wait to read it.

Oma said I could stay the night with my girl cousins. So Emma, Hannah, and Hallie stayed the night with me. Emma and Hallie laughed most of the night and I had a hard time going to sleep.
July 16, 2009 - I went to Opa's dental office as a patient. I need to get 3 sealants and Opa worked on a cavity as well. He said I was so brave that I got to choose 2 rewards from his treasure box.

I chose a new toothbrush and floss. I don't want another cavity. Yuck!

July 13 - there was a pad on the dentist chair in Oma and Opa's basement. I jumped on the chair and the pad slid. Then I slid. When I fell I bit my lip and it bled. It hurt really bad and took about a week to heal.

Simpson Family Reunion

July 9-12 - I love going to family reunions. Why? Because I get to play with all my family. This year I got to sleep 2 of the nights with the big girl cousins. The other night I was sick so I slept in my mom's tent.

McKayla, Hannah, Stacie, Olivia, Jessica. We called ourselves the Joshm's, which is an acronym for all of our names.

Showing off our candy from the Spongebob piniata.

Uncle Gord was Homer the clown again this year. He is soooo funny!I loved how he used dental floss to clean out is brains.

There is always lots of arts and crafts. I got to make a crown with my name on it.

We made smores around the campfire every night.

This year I made my tie dye shirt all by myself. It looked like an octopus with all the rubberbands on it.

This is my tie dye shirt! Like it?

Oma great with all her great grandchildren. She is 92 years old!

Water Fun

Monday, July 6, 2009 - We had family night at Hill Road Park with our friends, the Coopers. We ate KFC and then played in the water. I loved to stand on the water holes so it would make the other water shoot up way high into the sky!

Independance Day/4th of July 2009

We spent the 4th of July at Oma and Opa's. Their neighborhood was having a children's bike parade first thing in the morning. I had a lot of fun decorating my bike and helmet.
practicing for the parade
Bree, Ellie, Carter and I ready to ride. We went around the neighborhood twice and then enjoyed some popsicle.

There was water in the ditch so Carter and I rubbed mud all over ourselves. Then we had to wash off in the ditch too. The cold water felt so good on a hot day. Then we floated boats with Bree and Opa. It was a lot of fun.

All the younger kids were getting tired so we set off our fireworks early this year. It was only 7 pm when we started. Opa had a bunch of fireworks and Emma, Tyler, and Aspen shared theirs too.
I was careful to sit far away from the fireworks so I would be safe and not get burned. But then I fell over in my chair :)

Start of Summer Sleepover

June 26-27. Oma invited all her granddaughters for a sleepover to kick off summer vacation. I went over to her house and was so excited to play with my cousins. Carter and Tyler crashed the party but we still had a ton of fun.
Hannah taught me how to walk on stilts.

We played outside.

I slide on the slip-n-slide.

We stayed up late and played games.

We set up the tent out back and slept in it.

In the morning Oma made us poferiches (sp?) mini pancakes and then we got dressed and went to Lowe's to make pirate ships.
They gave us aprons and eye goggles and let us hammer the nails in to put the ships together.
